Tokio Marine Kiln appoints Head of Accident and Health in APAC
Tuesday, July 2, 2024
Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) today announces the appointment of Yixiang Yang as Head of Accident and Health, APAC. He takes up his new role with immediate effect.
Yang is an accident and health (A&H) specialist who brings nearly two decades of underwriting experience in APAC to TMK. He joins from Zurich where, as the Line of Business Head for Accident and Health in Singapore, he was responsible for leading the A&H team and managing a book which doubled in size during his tenure. Prior to this, he served as a Distribution Manager at Axa, focusing on health and lifestyle, where he was responsible for developing new business opportunities and strengthening relationships with brokers and financial advisory firms across Asia. Yang began his underwriting career at NTUC Income.
This appointment is the latest in a series of new hires for TMK in Singapore as the business looks to maintain its growth momentum in the region with the goal of doubling the premiums written through its Lloyd’s Asia platform by 2027. In March, TMK strengthened its property offering with the appointment of Jonathan Grossman as an underwriter in Singapore.
Pavlos Spyropoulos, Regional Managing Director for Asia Pacific, said:
“Accident and Health is a key product for TMK in Singapore. We have been writing A&H on the Lloyd’s Asia platform for more than a decade and are rightly regarded as a leader in the class, due, in no small part to the strength of our claims function. A&H will also be a key driver in meeting our growth ambitions of doubling the size of our Lloyd’s Asia platform by 2027.
“Yixiang is a recognised expert in A&H, who brings the requisite underwriting expertise, commercial acumen and entrepreneurial flair to accelerate our growth and deepen our presence in target markets across Asia. I am very pleased to welcome him to the team.”
